The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
City Hall - 50 W. 13th St.
Dubuque IA 52001
SUBJECT: Work Session with Dubuque County Board of Supervisors
Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
The Historic Preservation Commission previously had asked the City Council and the
Dubuque County Board of Supervisors to work together to preserve the Buettell
Brothers building at 821-845 Central Avenue.
As you will recall, the Commission's request was prompted by our concerns with the
potential for demolition of the Buettell Brothers building as part of the jail expansion.
The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors has advised the Commission that a joint
City/County work session to discuss this issue must be requested by the City Council.
The Commission respectfully requests that the City Council request a joint work session
with the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors. The Commission would like to
participate in this work session.
The Commission is available to assist the City Council and the Board with this project.
Sincerely,
