CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Also Present: Personnel Manager Randy Peck, Police Chief Kim Wadding
1. Approval of Minutes of December 14,2004
Kluesner moved to approve the minutes of December 14,2004. Seconded by
Duehr. Motion carried 2-0.
2. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for the Position of Traffic Signal
Technician II
Kluesner moved that the passing point for the Traffic Signal Technician II position
be 48 and above correct answers (56.5%). Seconded by Duehr. Motion carried
2-0.
Kluesner moved to certify the list for Traffic Signal Technician II as read.
Seconded by Duehr. Motion carried 2-0.
3. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for Lead Applications/Network
Analyst Position
Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication and to schedule an
entrance examination for the position of Lead Applications/Network Analyst with
the exam being open to all City employees and the general public, that the test
be a questionnaire take-home style examination, the list be good for two years
and that the deadlines for requesting the test and for return of the completed test
be as the Personnel Manager determines. Seconded by Duehr. Motion carried
2-0.
4. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for Engineering Technician
Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication and to schedule an
entrance examination for the position of Engineering Technician with the exam
being open to all current City employees and the general public, that the test be a
questionnaire take-home style examination, that the list be good for two years
and that the deadline for requesting an application/test and for return of the test
be determined by the Personnel Manager. Peck explained that this is a new
position and is a combination of the former Engineering Assistant I and
Engineering Assistant II positions. Seconded by Duehr. Motion carried 2-0.
S. Request to Schedule Promotional Examination for Police Lieutenant
Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication and to schedule a
promotional examination for the position of Police Lieutenant with the exam being
open to those members of the Police Department who have attained the rank of
Corporal or served a minimum of four years on the Department as a police officer
by the date of the written examination, that Vantage - McCann Associates, Inc.
furnish the written test, and the list be good for two years. Seconded by Duehr.
Motion carried 2-0.
Kluesner further moved that the application deadline be established as 5:00 p.m.,
April 8, 2005 with the test being administered on May 12, 2005 at a time and
place to be determined.
6. Adjourn
Kluesner moved to adjourn. Seconded by Duehr. Motion carried 2-0. The
meeting adjourned at 3:14 p.m.
