Dear Mr. Manternach:
The Dubuque City Council dissolved the City Board of Health on September 5,2000.
With help from both of our staffs, the transition to one County Board of Health
continues. The City Council has expressed a desire to have representation on the
County Board of Health.
The City Council is requesting that you create a position on the County Board of Health
for a City Council member, as appointed by the City Council. The City Council also
asked that you consider creating board member qualifications that include being public-
health oriented, not only in the environmental field, but also in the population-based and
personal-based health areas.
If you should decide to appoint a Dubuque City Council member, please let me know
and I will forward the name of the Council person selected.
