Proclamation Medical Lab Week
WHEREAS, the City of Dubuque, Iowa, is pleased to recognize and commend its
clinical laboratory professionals as they celebrate National

Laboratory Week April 24-30, 2005; and
WHEREAS, all citizens are affected by the demand of quality medical laboratory
services; and
WHEREAS, medical laboratories provide over 70% of diagnostic information
used by physicians to diagnose and treat disease; and
WHEREAS, medical laboratory professionals are both well-educated and highly
trained, and use their expertise daily as they make life and death
decisions that serve not only the patient but physicians and other
medical professionals; and
WHEREAS, the theme for National Medical Laboratory Week, “Laboratory
Professionals: The Heart of the Investigation Team” underscores
the pivotal role medical laboratory professionals play in the health of
our citizens.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM APRIL 24-30, 2005 AS:
“MEDICAL LABORATORY WEEK”
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
