SUBJECT: Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of
Dubuque and Teamsters Local Union No. 421
Personnel Manager Randy Peck is recommending City Council approval of an
amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Teamsters Union to
provide for a work week that consists of ten hours per day and four days per week for
Airport maintenanceworkers. This amendment would be in effect from May 2, 2005,
through October 28, 2005.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of
Dubuque and Teamsters Local Union No. 421
I have attached an amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the
Teamsters Union to provide for a work week that consists of ten (10) hours per day and
four (4) days per week for Airport maintenanceworkers. The amended articles are
holidays, casual days, hours of work, overtime and night shift premium pay. The
Amendment would be in effect from May 2, 2005 through October 28, 2005. The
requested action is for the City Council to approve a motion authorizing you to sign the
Amendment.

AMENDMENT
TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE
TEAMSTERS UNION LOCAL NO. 421
AND
THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA
The parties hereby agree to amend Article XXII, Holidays, Article XXIII, Casual Days,
Article XXV, Hours of Work, Article XXVI, Overtime and Article XXVII, Night Shift
Premium Pay to provide for a work week that consists of ten (10) hours per day and four
(4) days per week for Airport Maintenanceworkers. Employees will receive eight (8)
hours of pay for each holiday and casual day. No shift premium will be paid to
employees who work a ten (10) hour day. One and one half times (1 ~) the regular rate
of pay shall be paid for hours worked over forty (40) hours per week or ten (10) hours
per day.
This Amendment applies only to Airport Maintenanceworkers who work a ten (10) hour
work day and it will be in effect from May 2, 2005 through October 28, 2005.
