This is a claim for alleged damage to the claimant's vehicle,
which she alleges it sustained when it was struck by a City truck
making a right-hand turn from the left turning lane at Loras and
Cox Streets.
According to the report of Operations & Maintenance Manager
Don Vogt, the claim is correct as filed and he recommends payment.
It is therefore the recommendation of the Legal Department that
this claim, in the amount of $264.75, be paid by the Finance
Director and submitted to ICAP for reimbursement.

RE: Kim Eppler Claim
Dear Carol:
Mr. Leibfried related to me that he steered his City vehicle to the left before turning right in order
to give wide berth to pedestrians standing at the corner, since he was spreading pellet deicer at
the time. At the accident location, the northeast corner of Loras and Cox, there are no parking
lanes and the travel lanes are only a few feet from the sidewalks.
However, since the Police report cites our employee as "responsible", I recommend settlement in
the claimant's favor.
