Petition summary and
The Jule city bus line changes have created hardship, employment difficulties, unavailability, and in some cases, unsafe
background
and /or impossible usage conditions for senior citizens at many residential locations. Many do not drive anymore; have
nobody to aid their transportation, and cannot afford to pay for other means of transportation. This current bus change
has affected their independence, freedom of choice, lifestyles, and created concerns about waiting in various weather
conditions. There must be other demographic populations affected as well. The nation, as well as Dubuque, is
experiencing growth in senior and immigration areas. People from large metropolitan centers are also moving into smaller
cities to attain better living conditions for themselves, and also for families. Responding to the present and future public
transportation requirements must be acted upon now. It would be wasteful and foolish not to do so.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to reactivate former City of Dubuque Jule
bus lines, and to retain newer physical coverage areas.
