RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF PROPOSED AIRPORT ROAD SUBDIVISION
Whereas, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Dubuque,
Iowa, a plat dated December 11, 1998, prepared by the City of Dubuque describing
Airport Road Subdivision; and
Whereas, said plat conforms to the laws and statutes pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the plat dated December 11, 1998, prepared by the City of
Dubuque relative to the real estate hereinabove described by and the same is hereby
approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said plat for and on behalf of the City of Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to file
said plat and certified copy of this resolution in the office of the Recorder, in and for
Dubuque County, Iowa.

SUBJECT: Airport Road Subdivision
INTRODUCTION
This is in response to a request from the Dubuque County Auditor for the platting of the
reconstructed Airport Road.
Discussion
The reconstruction of U. S. 61 adjacent to the Dubuque Regional Airport obliterated the
previous entrance road. The new existing roadway into the Airport was constructed by
I.D.O.T. The attached plat of Airport Road Subdivision creates two lots and provides for the
platting of the relocated Airport Road.
In order to facilitate more accurate 911 assistance, the Dubuque County Auditor required
a replatting of the new roadway. Airport Road Subdivision creates two lots divided along
the centerline of Airport Road. A right-of-way of 100 feet was reserved 50 feet each side
of the centerline of the road. Lot 1 of Airport Road Subdivision encompasses area within
existing airport runways, taxiways and other operations. Lot 2 is vacant property presently
used for agricultural purposes.
RECOMMENDATION
The City of Dubuque, as owner of the Dubuque Regional Airport property, is required to sign
the Owner's Consent on the certificate in accordance with Dubuque County Subdivision
Regulations.
I would recommend that the final play of Airport Road Subdivision be approved and that the
Mayor be authorized and directed to sign the plat on behalf of the City.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The recommendation of the City Manager should be approved through adoption of the
enclosed resolution.
