TO:
Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM:
Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager
SUBJECT: Horseshoe Courts Renovation
Vernon McGrath and Robert Schauer, of the Horseshoe Pitchers' Association requested
the Flora Park Horseshoe Courts be renovated during the Fiscal Year 2002 budget
process. This renovation was budgeted in FY 2006 at that time.
During the Fiscal Year 2006 budget process, this CIP was shifted to Fiscal Year 2007
and Mr. McGrath and Mr. Schauer are requesting, on behalf of the Horseshoe Pitchers'
Association, that this CIP be moved back into FY 2006 to improve the Horseshoe
Courts at Flora Park prior to an upcoming Horseshoe competition in Dubuque.
GiI Spence, Leisure Services Manager, advises that the Eagle Point Park stone work
project ($26,750) and the Eagle Point and Flora Park project to replace street light
fixtures ($18,500) can be delayed and rebudgeted in FY 2007 to fund the horseshoe
courts renovation.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.
