RESOLUTION ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
Whereas, the City of Dubuque, as the owner of approximately 1.019 acres of vacant
property lying outside the corporate limits of the City of Dubuque, has voluntarily petitioned for
annexation of said territory to the City of Dubuque pursuant to Section 368.7 of the Code of
Iowa; and
Whereas, Chapter 368 of the Code of Iowa authorizes the extension of City limits in
situations of this character by the adoption of a resolution after notification as required by State
regulations; and
Whereas, the future growth and development of the City of Dubuque, Iowa make it
desirable that said territory, as shown on Exhibits A and B, be made a part of the City of Dubuque,
Iowa.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA:
.
Section 1. That the territorial limits of the City of Dubuque, Iowa be, and they hereby
are extended to include the property legally described as Lot 2 of SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section
30, T89N, .RIE},5th P.M., in Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 2. That the territory hereby annexed shall become a part of the Second Ward}
Seventh Precinct of the City of Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall file this resolution, all Exhibits and the petition for
voluntary annexation with the City Development Board of the State of Iowa.

Planning Services Manager Laura Carstens is recommending that a public hearing be
set for February 1, 1999, to consider the voluntary annexation of 1.019 acres of
City-owned land on the west side of the North Siegert Farm, east of Seippel Road
and south of Middle Road. This small vacant parcel was omitted from the land
survey prepared for the City's voluntary annexation of the North Siegert Farm
property.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Annexation of City-Owned Property
The purpose of this memo is to request the City Council's review and approval of
the voluntary annexation of 1.019 acres of City-owned land on the west side of the
North Siegert Farm, east of Seippel Road and south of Middle Road. The property
is legally described as Lot 2 of the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 30, Township
89 North, Range 2 East, in Dubuque County. The attached map shows this parcel
in relation to the city limits of Dubuque.
This small vacant parcel was omitted from the land survey prepared for the City's
voluntary annexation of the North Siegert Farm property. When the City later
purchased the North Siegert Farm property, this parcel was included in the deed.
After a public hearing on February 1, 1999, I recommend that the City Council
approve the attached resolution for voluntary annexation of this parcel.

SUBJECT: Annexation of City-Owned Property
The purpose of this memo is to request the City Council's review and approval of
the voluntary annexation of 1.019 acres of City-owned land on the west side of the
North Siegert Farm, east of Seippel Road and south of Middle Road. The property
is legally described as Lot 2 of the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 30, Township
89 North, Range 2 East, in Dubuque County. The attached map shows this parcel
in relation to the city limits of Dubuque.
This small vacant parcel was omitted from the land survey prepared for the City's
voluntary annexation of the North Siegert Farm property. When the City later
purchased the North Siegert Farm property, this parcel was included in the deed.
After a public hearing on February 1, 1999, I recommend that the City Council
approve the attached resolution for voluntary annexation of this parcel.

RESOLUTION ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
Whereas, the City of Dubuque, as the owner of approximately 1.019 acres of vacant
property lying outside the corporate limits of the City of Dubuque, has voluntarily petitioned for
annexation of said territory to the City of Dubuque pursuant to Section 368.7 of the Code of
Iowa; and
Whereas, Chapter 368 of the Code of Iowa authorizes the extension of City limits in
situations of this character by the adoption of a resolution after notification as required by State
regulations; and
Whereas, the future growth and development of the City of Dubuque, Iowa make it
desirable that said territory, as shown on Exhibits A and B, be made a part of the City of Dubuque,
Iowa.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA:
Section 1. That the territorial limits of the City of Dubuque, Iowa be, and they hereby
are extended to include the property legally described as Lot 2 of SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section
30, T89N, R1 E, 5th P.M., in Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 2. That the territory hereby annexed shall become a part of the Second Ward,
Seventh Precinct of the City of Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall file this resolution, all Exhibits and the petition for
voluntary annexation with the City Development Board of the State of Iowa.

OFFICIAL NOTICE
NOTICE is hereby given that the Dubuque City Council will conduct a public hearing on
MONDAY, February 1, 1999 at a meeting to commence at 7:00 P.M. in the Public
Library Auditorium for the purpose to consider annexing approx. 1.019 acres of City-
owned land located on the west side of the North Siegert Farm, east of Seippel Road
and south of Middle Road. Said property is legally described as "Lot 2 of SW 1/4 of NW
1/4 of Section 30, T89N, R1 E, 5th P.M., in Dubuque County, Iowa.
Written comments regarding this annexation may be submitted to the City Clerk on or
before time of pubic hearing.
At said time and place of public hearing all interested citizens and parties will be given
an opportunity to be heard for or against said proposed annexation.
Any visual or hearing impaired persons needing special assistance or persons with
special accessibility needs should contact the City Clerk's Office at (319) 589-4120 or
TOO (319) 589-4193 in the Human Rights Department at least 48 hours prior to the
meeting.

Dear Mr. McCann:
Enclosed find following documents regarding the voluntary annexation of property to
the City of Dubuque, Iowa.
Communication from City Manager and Planning Services Manager requesting
annexation of City-owned property (legally described as "Lot 2 of the SW 1/4 of
the NW 1/4 of Section 30, Township 89 North, Range 1 East); with location maps
(Exhibit "A") and (Exhibit "B") attached;
Copy of certified receipts of mailings to necessary parties with notice attached;
Publisher's Affidavit, published January 22, 1999, advising of public hearing;
Certified copy of "Resolution No. 53-99 Annexing certain property to the City of
Dubuque, containing approximately 1.019 acres, located on the west side of the
North Siegert Farm, east of Seippel Road and south of Middle Road.
