Chairperson Robert Schaub called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. following staff assurance of
compliance with Iowa Open Meeting Law.

Review and Certification of Minutes of 19 July 2011 Housing Code Appeals Board
Meeting
David Young motioned to approve the minutes. Fred Miller seconded. Motion passed 4 -0.
Correspondence /Public Input
There was no correspondence or public input.
Consent Agenda
The consent agenda items are considered to be routine and non - controversial and all consent
items will be normally voted upon in a single motion without any separate discussion on a
particular item.
The following property owners have requested an extension of time to complete repairs. The
Housing and Community Development staff concurs with the extension of time requested and
respectfully requests Housing Appeals Board approval.
Harold Koppes, owner of 516/518 Rhomberg Avenue, is requesting an extension of time until 11/30/11
Alpine Estates, owner of 861 Alpine Street, is requesting an extension of time until 12/1/11
Susan Farber, owner of 394 Bluff Street, is requesting an extension of time until 5/31/12
Margie White, owner of 2170 Central Avenue, is requesting an extension of time until 5/31/12
Genesis II Management, Inc., owner of 1337 Main #5, is requesting an extension of time until 5/31/12
Winger Construction, owner of 1920 Jackson, is requesting an extension of time until 5/31/12
ALL DEFICIENCIES AND MOTIONS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DUBUQUE
HOUSING CODE UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED. EXTENSIONS OF TIME ARE GRANTED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 6 SECTION 6 -9F(1) AND VARIANCES ARE GRANTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 6 SECTION 6- 9F(2).
Paul Newman motioned to approve the consent agenda. David Young seconded. Motion
passed 4 -0.
New Business
CASE #1
Anne Mullen, owner of 1612 Butterfield Road, is requesting an extension until May 2012 to
organize excess materials in her basement.
This is a General Housing inspection.
Bob Boge updated the Board on the status of Ms. Mullen's home. The Board encouraged Ms.
Mullen to use the Healthy Homes program to remove excess debris that is health and fire issue
in her home. David Young motioned to give Ms. Mullen an extension until May 1, 2012. Paul
Newman seconded. Motion passed
4 -0.

Adjournment
Robert Schaub asked for all in favor of adjournment to say Aye. Motion passed 4 -0.
