Minutes Elec. Code Bd. 5 23 05 MINUTES OF MEETING ELECTRICAL CODE BOARD DATE: Monday, May 23,2005 TIME: LOCATION: 3:00 P.M. City Hall, Conference Rm. A CHAIR: Dixon PRESENT: Dixon, Pfohl, Hammel, Reiss ABSENT: Pregler STAFF: Steve Neyens MEDIA: None OTHERS: Mike Balfe, Andrew Flynn, Eric Dupont, David Diercks, Monaca Diercks, Justin Ries, Matt Noel, Ken Aureden, Mark Lange, Donald Ewing, David Reistroffer, Eugene McShane Meeting was called to order by Dixon at 3:03 P.M. Hammel moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the Feb. 21, 2005 meeting and accept them as typed. Pfohl seconded and the vote was all in favor. The Board then reviewed the fifteen (15) applications that were submitted. The Board interviewed the ten (10) applicants who were present. The results were as follows: Hammel moved that the following six persons be approved for issuance of an Electrical Journeyman License: David Reistroffer - #492, Kenneth Aureden - #491, Matt Noel - #490, Justin Ries - #489, Eric Dupont - #487 and Eugene McShane - #493. Reiss seconded and the vote was all in favor. Hammel moved that Mark Lange - #123 and Donald Ewing - #122 be approved for issuance of an Electrical Maintenance License. Reiss seconded and the vote was all in favor. Hammel moved that Mike Balfe - #224 be approved for an Electrical Contractor License. Reiss seconded and the vote was all in favor. Hammel moved that David Diercks - #223 be approved for issuance of an Electrical Contractor License. Reiss seconded. There was some concern expressed by Pfohl about Diercks experience as listed. Staff pointed out that as stated on the application form, he met the stated requirements. The vote was all in favor of the motion. Hammel moved to accept Brice Lubben 's - #495 updated information and approve him for an Electrical Journeyman License. Pfohl seconded and the vote was all in favor. Pfohl moved to approve Barney Grobstick's - #225 application for an Electrical Contractor License and approve him for issuance of same. Hammel seconded and the vote was all in favor. Hammel moved to accept the application from Timothy Brotzman - #494 for Electrical Journeyman License. Hammel explained Brotzman's absence from the meeting. Pfohl seconded the motion and the vote was all in favor. Hammel then moved that Brotzman be issued an Electrical Journeyman License. Reiss seconded and the vote was all in favor. Hammel moved to accept the application from David Every - #280 for Electrical Journeyman License. Hammel explained that Mr. Every previously had a license but missed the renewal deadline at which time his license expired. He is asking to have it reissued. Pfohl seconded and the vote was all in favor. Staff advised the Board that Duane Thole - #104 had contacted him about his expired Maintenance License. He had passed the exam 7-12-1997 with an 80%. He was approved by this Board for a license 8-4-97. He did not renew for 2001, but wished to now reapply. Hammel moved to approve his request if he would submit a new application to staff. Dixon seconded and the vote was all in favor. Staff advised that he would contact Mr. Thole. Reiss moved to accept the information from NICC about the continuing education classes and to approve their certificates at license renewal time. Pfohl seconded and the vote was all in favor. Hammel made a motion to table items #4 and #6 to a later meeting because they were not quite ready to discuss these topics. Pfohl seconded and the vote was all in favor. It was recommended that another meeting be set up in two or four weeks to look at the tabled material when there was more time and everyone could be there. Staff will set it up. Reiss moved to adjourn the meeting. at 4:40 P.M. Approved this day of eeting adjourned Chairperson
