Van Milligen City Manager FROM: Randy Peck ~ Personnel Manager SUBJECT: Petition for Bargaining Unit Amendment - Operating Engineers Union On May 2, 2005, the City Council approved a Stipulation of Bargaining Unit as Amended, which excluded the fol/owing classifications from the Operating Engineers Bargaining Unit: Department Number of Emplovees Affected Finance: Water Meter Inspector 1 Public Works: Account Clerk" 1 Police: Clerk Typist 4 Building Services: Clerk Typist o Housing and Community Development: Clerk Typist 0 Health Services: Milk Sanitarian 0 Water Pollution Control: Laboratory Technician I 1 Dan Sommers, President of the Operating Engineers Union, has informed me that the Union would like to modify the Stipulation to include the classification of Laboratory Technician I. I have reviewed the Stipulation and recommend that we agree to the amended unit as described in the Stipulation.
