Brownfields Public Info Meeting
Brownfields Public Information Meeting
The City of Dubuque is hosting a public information meeting to review the implementation of
cleanup activities associated with the Port of Dubuque Brownfields Redevelopment Project.
Representatives from Terracon Inc., the City's Brownfields project consultant, the Iowa
Department of Natural Resources, and the City of Dubuque will be presenting information and
be available to answer questions.
Brownfields are properties that cannot be easily redeveloped or reused because of the
presence, or possible presence, of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. The City
of Dubuque has received $200,000 in federal Brownfields cleanup funds, which are being used
for cleanup of residual petroleum impact at the Port of Dubuque Brownfields Redevelopment
Project site. Cleanup of the site will facilitate redevelopment.
The cleanup process is on schedule and this meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to
learn more about the activities to date. The meeting will be held at the cleanup site, located in
the parking lot east of the Diamond Jo Casino and south of the Grand Harbor Resort and
Waterpark on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. Project team members will be available beginning at
10:30 AM. and a brief presentation will begin at 11 :00 A.M. This site is fully accessible. If you
have questions or special needs, please contact the Economic Development Director's Office at
589-4393.
