Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Tim Horsfield, Parking System Supervisor DATE: January 24, 2012 SUBJECT: Amending Ordinance 9 -14- 321.602 Prohibited Parking Dubuque had All-America City ' 11' 2007 INTRODUCTION This memo will provide information regarding the removal of a section of no parking on 9th Street just east of Iowa to the alley east. DISCUSSION This Code of Ordinance supports another ordinance amendment which expands the parking meter district, 9 -14- 3231.666 which places meters in this area. This area previously was no parking due to the street design and part of the lane being a "turn lane" and was thus posted No Parking. Now with the new street design, the No Parking is to be removed to allow for the placement of two additional parking meters. This area specifically is the south side of 9th Street from Iowa to the alley east of Iowa. It allows for 2 additional parking spaces. RECOMMENDATION Pending your approval, I would recommend the City Council approve and adopt the Code of Ordinance amendment as proposed.
