With the recent street reconstruction in the area of 9th and Iowa to 9th and Central, the
new design of the block corners allow placement of two additional parking meters on the
south side of 9th Street between Iowa Street and the alley to the east.
Parking System Supervisor Tim Horsfield recommends City Council approval of an
amendment to the Code of Ordinances to allow placement of additional parking meters
in this area.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
This memo will provide you with information regarding adding an area to have parking meters placed following the recent
street reconstruction at 9th and Iowa.
DISCUSSION
With the recent street reconstruction in the area of 9th and Iowa to 9th and Central, the new design of the block corners have
allow for placement of 2 additional parking meters on south side of 9th Street between Iowa Street the alley to the east.
RECOMMENDATION
Pending your approval,1 would request City Council action to amend the Code of Ordinances to allow placement of parking
meters in this area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

Section 1. Section 9 -14- 321.666 of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances is
amended to read as follows:
9 -14- 321.666: MUNICIPAL PARKING METER DISTRICT ESTABLISHED:
There is hereby established a municipal parking meter district to be comprised of streets
and /or portions thereof as follows:
East -west streets:
9th Street, south side, between Iowa Street and the alley east of Iowa
Street.
Section 2. This Ordinance takes effect on publication.
