RE: June 21,2005 Letter
Dear Mr. Schroeder:
The City is in receipt of the resident petition requesting a curb cut drop-off at the
entrance to the Ecumenical Tower at 250 West 6th Street. Based on preliminary on-site
review, the City Engineering Department believes this will be a feasible project.
As stated at the Tuesday, June 21, 2005 meeting, it will be required that St. Mary's
Home submits an engineering plan as to the specific drop-off location. The City will be
happy to meet with your engineer to provide the necessary design parameters. Portzen
Construction, Inc., the local contractor for the 6th and yth Streets Reconstruction &
Washington Park Renovation, will then provide a cost estimate to determine project
feasibility.
. In working with the City's Public Works Department, it will be the responsibility of St.
Mary's Home for snow and ice removal of the curb-cut area. With the exception of short-
term resident drop-off, "No Parking" signage will continue to be posted on the side street.
Based on the presentation by Sister Mary Patricia Conlon at the June 20, 2005 City
Council meeting, there might be other issues. Perhaps we should meet to create a
wholistic solution as possible.
If you have any questions and/or need additional information, please free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Q\.V~ ~'\~ ^'i &
