SUBJECT: Joint Work Session for Update of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances
Planning Services Manager Laura Carstens is transmitting information regarding a
proposed Work Session for Update of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances.
I respectfully request the Mayor and City Council select a date for the work session.
Currently the two dates to select from are August 1 and August 15.
Since these are the nights of regularly scheduled City Council meetings, the work
session would be conducted from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m.

SUBJECT: Joint Work Session for Update of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances
Introduction
This memo is a request for the City Council to schedule a joint work session in August
for the Update of the City's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances.
Discussion
The project schedule includes a joint work session with the Zoning Advisory
Commission and the Citizen Advisory Committee. At this work session, the consultants
will review and discuss their critique of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. They
will present an annotated outline of the revised ordinance. At this work session, the
consultants will need a decision on whether to proceed with a Unified Development
Code or separate Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. The consultants estimate they
will require two hours to cover the material and respond to questions.
Originally, City staff recommended the dates of August 8 or August 22 for this work
session. Unfortunately, all 7 Council members were unable to attend on these dates.
City staff now is recommending that the Council consider holding this joint work session
from 4 to 6 p.m. on the regular meeting nights of Monday, August 1 or Monday, August
15. A light supper would be provided at 6:00 p.m.
Requested Action
The requested action is for the City Council to schedule the joint work session on the
Update of Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances for Monday, August 1 or Monday, August
15 from 4 to 6 p.m.
