7. Narrative Description:
Architectural Style And Key Stylistic Elements:
Vernacular two-story frame gable front plan, similar to those to the east in that the plan is narrow
allowing for just two window openings across the front. Symmetrical fenestration, side hall plan (left
single entry).
Physical Description:
27x17 core with rear extension, left side hall, east of center chimney, one-story rear wing
Alterations:
Resided with broad aluminum siding, full-width porch replaced with flat roofed metal canopy and metal
support posts, faux shutters.

1984-erect sloped wood canopy-owner: Chris Hefel-contractor: Midwest-$3300

Historical Image Notes:
The 1884 Sanborn Map shows a single-story dance hall on or near this site.
The 1889 Bird's Eye View shows this house as present.
The 1891 Sanborn Map first depicts this building with a two-story front core, no porch, a rear wing and
inset corner porch.
The 1909 map addresses it at 101 Hart. The 1909/36 map shows a long rear attached wing.
