Narrative Description: Architectural Style And Key Stylistic Elements: An 1897 photograph indicates that this was a Queen Anne style house design, and the surviving south bay/wing represents that design. The present flat-roofed design represents a substantial re-modeling and conversion. Two-story frame apartment block with rounded three-sided bay and side bay, 9 efficiency apts. Physical Description: 36x38, rear centered wing 20x22, stone foundation Alterations: Broad aluminum siding, flat roof porch set between bays, south side shed roof porch enclosed, vertical siding on rounded bays and parapet front Building Permits: 1939-alterations 1942-re-sided 1946-same 1950-five car garage 1977-re-sided Outbuildings: Shared garage Landscaping Notes: Fronts east, flat lot. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Evaluation: In this case it is the outbuilding that is counted as contributing within the district, not the house. Historical Notes: A.R. Staufenbeil builds three-story flat, no address, for $3,500 in 1905 (Telegraph-Herald, December 31, 1905). Charles H. Bradley builds house on Seminary St., no address, 1910 (Telegraph-Herald, January 1, 1911) It is probably that this house was converted into a five-plex in 1950, at which time the larger garage was built.
