CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

1. Approval of Minutes of April 8, 2005
Kluesner moved to approve the minutes of April 8, 2005. Seconded by Duehr.
Motion carried 2-0.
2. Establish Passing Point for Position of Police Lieutenant
Kluesner moved to accept the recommendation of Vantage McCann and Police
Chief Wadding and to establish the passing point for the position of Police
Lieutenant at 70 and above correct answers. Seconded by Duehr. Motion
carried 2-0. Chief Wadding explained that the next stage of the process would
be the oral interviews, which would also require a minimum passing score of
70%.
3. Request to Schedule Entrance Examination for Position of Assistant
Planner
Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication and to schedule an
entrance examination for the position of Assistant Planner with the exam being
open to all City employees and the general public, that the test be a
questionnaire take-home style examination, the list be good for two years and
that the deadline for requesting the test be established as June 16,2005 and for
return of the completed test by July 8, 2005. Seconded by Duehr. Motion
carried 2-0.
4. Request to Schedule Promotional Examination for Position of Records
Supervisor
Commissioner Kluesner moved to receive and file the communication of the City
Manager and to schedule a promotional examination, open to current City
employees, for the position of Records Supervisor and that the list be in effect for
two years. Seconded by Duehr, passed unanimously. Upon motion the
promotional examination will be conducted at 6:30 p.m., July 13, 2005, in the
Arizona Room at Loras College and the application deadline was set for 5:00
p.m., June 17,2005.
There being no further business, motion to adjourn at 3:12 p.m.
