Dear Ms. Kenworthy & Commission Members:
On behalf of the Fly-By-Night Productions Board of Directors, I am honored and
pleased to accept the $10,000 grant for the Musical Cabaret Project.
Fly-By-Night Productions has been producing "cutting edge" theater in Dubuque
since 1982 in several venues and for the last fifteen years in the Bijou Room of the Five
Flags Theater. This fall's production of "Machinal" will mark the 100th play we have
presented to the Tri,-State audiences in the past 23 years.
We are extremely grateful to be one of the first recipients of the newly created
Special Projects grants of the Arts & Cultural Grant Program developed by the City of
Dubuque. This program is a blessing to all non-profit arts and cultural organizations in
the city. It shows a financial commitment by the city and continued support for the
numerous arts and cultural organizations. It also gives credence to the City's long range
community development plan.
Thank you for the time spent in reviewing the grant applications and for your
continued commitment to the arts in our community. It is through the generosity of the
City of Dubuque and each Commission member that we can proudly proclaim that the
arts are indeed alive and well in our community!
