CITY HALL ANNEX — 1st FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM #1
MEMBERS PRESENT: Pauline Maloney, Sr. Carol Hoverman, Jennifer Tigges, Alan Vincent,
George Herrig Kevin Stevens.
MEMBERS ABSENT: One seat is vacant on the Commission.
OTHERS PRESENT:
Craig Nowack, City of Dubuque
Jim Barefoot, Mediacom
Ron Tigges
Prior to the start of the meeting, City Clerk Kevin S. Firnstahl processed the Oaths of Office of the
Commissioners.
Tigges called the meeting to order at 4:06 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Hoverman, seconded by Herrig, the agenda was accepted 6 - 0.
Election of Officers
Vincent asked for volunteers to serve as Chair of the Commission. With no response, Vincent
volunteered for the position. Herrig moved to nominate Vincent for Chair of the Commission,
seconded by Tigges. The motion was approved 6 — 0.
Vincent asked for volunteers to serve as Vice -Chair of the Commission. Tigges volunteered.
Maloney moved to nominate Tigges for Vice -Chair of the Commission. The motion was seconded by
Herrig and approved 6 — 0.
Public Notice
There was no public input.
Regular Meeting Time
The Commission discussed potential regular meeting times. Nowack indicated that he hoped to have
the meetings in City Hall Annex Conference Room I where a monitor, DVD player, and cable service
are available. Maloney moved to set the first Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. in Conference Room
I as the regular meeting time. The motion was seconded by Herrig and approved 6 — 0.
Mediacom Cable Report
Barefoot reported that the new turn -key production studio was installed and functioning and his new
assistant is getting up to speed on the various aspects of the job.
Cable TV Report
Nowack informed the Commission that the City's cable channel is getting a new logo and name.
CityChannel Dubuque will premiere at City Expo next month. The Cable staff has been busy creating
spots with the new logo. He has been meeting with Loras College and the school district in advance
of Loras taking over operational duties of the district's educational access channel. The new
Cablecast server is now functional and the new Audience.TV server came in late last week but is not
running yet.

Upon a motion by Stevens, seconded by Tigges, the meeting was adjourned at 4:28 p.m.
