Five Flags Commission Meeting
June 28,2005

The Commission meeting convened at 4:45 P.M. in the Five Flags Theater Lobby. Vice
Chairperson Mark Nauman presided.
Approval of Minutes: Mike Brannon moved to approve the April 25, 2005 Five Flags
Commission Minutes. Seconded by Bryce Parks. Motion carried 3-0.
Manager's Activity Report: Manager Gardner presented the commissioners with an
update of the dealings at the Five Flags Center.

Financial Report: Manager Gardner presented the commissioners with the financial
statement from the previous month.
Old Business: The Thunderbirds Hockey contract is back in their hands. As of now. it
is still a three-year contract, but can go to one year if needed. The tentative schedule is
out for hockey as well.
The new website, www.fiveflaQscenter.comis up and online.
New Business: Tom Lorenz introduced the new General Manager, Charlie Gardner to
the commissioners. Manager Gardner gave a short biography of his work with SMG.
Regarding the renovations to the Five Flags Center, as of now, it looks as though the
construction is a week ahead; FFC is still looking at September 1, 2005 as the opening.
There was an accident, the Foreman fell from the Upper Promenade, was taken to Iowa
City, and is now home recovering.
Manager Gardner is working on a Grand Reopening. There is a possibility of doing an
Open House, offering meals and entertainment. so that the community could see the
decorative changes. as well as the expanded concession options.
New Bookings - Manager Gardner is working on routing dates/prices. The new
bookings are Friends of the Bob and Tom Show, October 8, 2005, The Peking
Acrobats, on February 21/22,2006 and Wahlert High School's Prom on May 6th, 2006.
We have several shows on hold for the upcoming fiscal year and Manager Gardner is
currently working on getting an act for the Grand Opening.

The suggestion was made that Manager Gardner get with the Telegraph Herald to do a
piece on the renovations, as nothing has been mentioned as of yet.
With no further business to discuss, Mike Brannon moved to adjourn,
Bryce Parks seconded. Motion carried. 3-0 Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
