Dear Mayor Duggan:
AP AC Customer Services, Inc. has recently developed tentative plans to permanently
discontinue operations at its facility located at 3250 JFK Circle, Dubuque, IA. In keeping with
the Company's plans, employment separations in connection with this decision are expected to
commence on or about September 28, 2005. At this time, it is expected that the entire facility
will be closed. Although the Company will make every effort to offer employees other positions
at other facilities, it is anticipated that affected employees would be separated from employment
during a 14-day period commencing on September 28, 2005. A list of job titles and the number
of employees currently holding affected positions accompanies this letter.
None of the employees who would be affected by the Company's proposed plans are represented
by labor unions. Bumping arrangements are not available for affected employees, although
every effort will be made to offer employees other positions within AP AC.
This announcement and the above timetable are based on the best information currently
available. However, various factors may still affect the timing of any employment separations.
You will be informed of any significant changes in these plans as additional information
becomes available. This letter is intended to fulfill any requirements that may be imposed under
the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. By providing this information, the
Company does not concede that the Act applies or that notice is otherwise required.
