Fiscal Year 2000 Budget Public Hearing CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA MEMORANDUM February 24, 1999 TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members FROM: Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Fiscal Year 2000 Budget Public Hearing City Council has completed departmental budget reviews involving approximately twelve hours over six hearing dates. The hearings were televised over City Channel 8, meeting notices have been published and posted and budget documents placed on file at the Library and City Clerk's Office for the public to review. Through the budget hearings the Council has not asked to have any items held over for further discussion. However, in my February 17 memo I asked that three items be included in the City Manager's budget recommendation. Those items include: $10,480 for additional contract custodial services at the Airport from additional parking revenues at the Airport; an assessment and "Housing Summit" decision package in Housing Services for $30,000 (funded $17,000 from grants and the balance from Section 8 and CDBG funds); and $3,000 to support an additional Fair Housing Conference for Human Rights from CDBG funds. Attached to your agenda is a listing of the order of departments that City Council follows when asking for input. The action required of City Council to finalize the Fiscal Year 2000 budget process is to hold the public hearing, consider public input and act on the attached resolutions which provide for adoption of the recommended budget as amended, the five year capital improvement program and the Community Development Block Grant FY 2000 Annual Plan. , ..
