PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS1 since 1946 CROP / CHURCH WORLD SERVICE has had walks to collect funds
to alleviate HUNGER overseas and in the United States; and
WHEREAS1 CROP WALK pledges now meet human need in over 70 countries with disaster
and emergency responsel refugee and immigrant servicesl economic and
social upheaval response; and
WHEREAS1 Dubuque Rescue Missionl Dubuque Food Pantry and PIN (People In Need)
each will share equally in the 25% retained locally of the total amount
collected; and
WHEREAS, Dubuque Annual Fall CROP WALK will be held starting at the Cathedral Church
at 1 :00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2005, in support of this organization to help
our community become aware of and concerned about hunger and its causes
and effects upon us all; and
WHEREAS, the CROP WALK will raise funds to help stop hunger both locally and globally.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MA YOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SUNDA Y, OCTOBER 2, 2005 AS:
"CROP WALK DA Y IN DUBUQUE"
AND URGE THE CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE TO PARTlCIPA TE WITH THE DUBUQUE AREA
CONGREGA TIONS UNITED TO SUPPORT THIS WALK.
