RE: Water Recreation Access Cost-Share Grant Application - Public Access
Dear Ms. Carstens:
The Water Recreation Access Committee met to review requests for cost sharing from
the Marine Fuel Tax Grant Fund. There were a total of 18 grant applications, with
funding available for 15 applications. Total construction costs for these 15 projects
totaled $612,484.00 with an eligible funding amount of $366,200.00. The Natural
Resource Commission approved funding for these grants at their August meeting.
We were able to fund your project. A total of up to $50,000.00 in state money was
approved. This is 28.9% of the total project cost.
This letter constitutes formal notification and approval, and you may begin your project
at any time, once any necessary construction permits have been obtained from the
state or federal government. You will be contacted by Ms. Kathleen Moench of the
Budgets/Grants Bureau to finalize a cooperative agreement between your agency and
the DNR.
If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 515/281/6281 or Ms.
Moench at 515-281-3013.
