Dear Mr. Wentworth,
On behalf of the people of Greenwood and evacuees of Hurricane Katrina, I offer our
heartfelt thanks for the compassion and generosity of the Dubuque Racing Association
and the good people of Dubuque.
Your contribution will go a long way in helping those who have truly lost everything re- .
establish homes for their families. We have found residential housing for more than sixty
families here, and the number continues to grow. The big needs are for all household
items, and appliances and your gift helps immensely.
There has been much criticism of the efforts of some levels of government and some
agencies, but I can tell you first-hand that no one should ever doubt the ability and the
will ofthe people to do what is needed and necessary. This has been an eye-opening
experience for me and has renewed my faith in the human race. Help has come from
everywhere, and I'm proud to say that everyone who has come to us has been helped.
Saturday morning I will be welcoming Kathy Sadewasser arid two other members of your
community to Greenwood as they deliver supplies. I look forward to being able to
personally thank them, and I hope that one day you and representatives of your
Association will visit us, as we would all like to thank you personally, too.
Sincerely,
f
