The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
City of Dubuque
City Hall - 50 W. 13th Street
Dubuque,IA 52001
RE: Vision 2000 Revisited
Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
The Long Range Planning Advisory Commission has reviewed a proposed format for a
series of half-hour segments to air on City Channel 8 regarding Vision 2000. A copy of
the schedule is attached for your review.
Discussion
The Long Range Planning Advisory Commission discussed that the a series of programs
could be videotaped to air in January regarding our community's progress toward the
ideals of Vision 2000. The series would be a ten segment series of half-hour television
programs designed to revisit the community visioning effort of 1990-92 and explore our
community's progress toward the ideals identified and documented in that process.
Commissioner Dave Rusk has offered host the series, as he did with the original series.
Mr. Rusk would utilize an informal discussion format on various topics, matching the
"dimensions" of the community vision document. The segments would be taped one
month in advance of their broadcast schedule, with the first to be aired in January.
Recommendation
By a vote of 6 to 0, the Long Range Planning Advisory Commission recommends that
the City Council consent to the format and schedule for a series regarding our progress
toward Vision 2000.
Respectfully submitted,
~~~
