DUBUQUE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
MINUTES OF
September 19, 2005
Commissioner Giesen called the meeting of the Dubuque Human Rights Commission to order at
4:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2005, at the Holiday In Downtown, 450 Main, Dubuque, Iowa.

Discuss/Appoint Two Commissioners to DHRC #4115 Public Hearing Panel
Commissioner Oswald moved and Commissioner Jarrard seconded to approve the appointment of
two commissioners to serve with the ALJ on the December 21 & 22, 2005 hearing panel. All in
favor.
Commissioners will check their availability and be prepared to commit at next month’s meeting.
Director to Recommend DHRC #4127 Proceed to Public Hearing
Commissioner Jarrard moved to approve the Director’s recommendation that DHRC #4127
proceed to public hearing. Commissioner Ross seconded. All in favor.

Vice-chair, Vince Vanden Huevel, will chair the October 10 meeting.
Director's Report
Kelly provided a written report highlighting past and future initiatives.
Goal Setting
Sid Scott facilitated the Commission’s 2005-2006 goal setting session.
Adjournment
Commissioner Oswald moved and Commissioner Ross seconded to adjourn the meeting. All in
favor. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
