cuttings be scheduled:
Pet Park
Friday, November 18, 12 Noon
Dubuque Industrial Center West, Bergfeld Recreation Area, and Chavenelle
Road Expansion
Thursday, December 1, 12 Noon
Gateways Landscaping Project
Wednesday, December 14, 12 Noon

SUBJECT:
Remaining Ribbon-Cuttings for Fall 2005
BACKGROUND:
Leisure Services Director Gil Spence has recently reported that the majority of the work on
the new Pet Park located at the former Water Department site near Bunker Hill Golf Course is
nearly complete. Half of the park is completed and the remaining work cannot be finished
until next spring. He also reports that work on the Bergfeld Recreation Area is scheduled to
be completed by December 1.
Economic Development Director Dave Heiar reports that the earthwork at the Dubuque
Industrial Center West (DICW) and the Chavanelle Street Expansion are both scheduled to
be completed by December 1.
I have contacted both Gil and Dave and we have begun to plan ribbon-cutting ceremonies for
these projects. They both agreed that a combined ribbon-cutting would be appropriate for the
Bergfeld Recreation Area, DICW grading, and Chavanelle Street expansion projects.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
I respectfully request that you ask the Mayor and City Council to review the following
proposed dates and times for ribbon-cutting ceremonies:
Pet Park
Friday, November 18, 12 Noon
Dubuque Industrial Center West, Bergfeld Recreation Area, and Chavanelle Road
Expansion
Thursday, December 1, 12 Noon
Gateways Landscaping Project
Wednesday, Dec. 14, 12 Noon
