Mark,
Every year, Area Residential Care recognizes businesses that are associated with the agency that have
gone above and beyond to provide assistance to the consumers we serve. This could be a new work
site, an on-going worksite that has done something special, a large volume customer, etc. We also
present other awards from time to time to groups of people within the community who have gone above
and beyond to provide assistance, services, understanding, etc, to the consumers. This award has been
given to neighbors, bank tellers, etc.
This year, the vocational staff have nominated the Keyline fixed route drivers and dispatch staff to receive
this special award. The award is being given to thank the bus drivers for all of the extra assistance, the
phone calls, the driving around to find people who are lost, the "special eye" that is kept on the
consumers, and the general consideration given to all of the folks with disabilities who ride the fixed
routes in Dubuque.
I know there are many drivers within the Keyline system. Several of them stand out to the staff who ride
the bus with the consumers and to the staff who assist with the loading and unloading every day at the
Vocational Services Center. These drivers include by name: Doug Schlickman, Jim Giunta, Larry Maule,
C. Scott, Stephen Heinz, Larry Griffin, David Cole, Angella Marlatt, and William Gibson. Additionally, in
the office, Karen and Connie are very helpful to us.
The invitation is extended to these employees and a guest to attend our annual Board Award Dinner.
The entire group of drivers will receive one plaque to Keyline Transit Fixed Route Drivers and should
have one spokesperson to accept the award at the dinner.
Please let me know who will be able to attend on the 18th of October. The dinner is at 6:30 p.m. at the
Meadows Golf Club. Dinner to be served approximately 7:15 pm. If you need further information, please
feel free to call me. Thank you.
