For additional information Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque 700 Locust Street, Suite 195 Dubuque, IA 52001 563.588.2700 office@dbqfoundation.org www.dbqfoundation.org COMMUNITY FOUNDATION of GI-rotor Dubugus 08092012 Project HOPE convenes philanthropy, business, government, education, workforce and service providers to: • Improve coordination among providers • Connect people to education /skills training • Increase pathways to employment • Support the Circles Initiative • Help families build financial assets Project HOPE Coalition Members • Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque • City of Dubuque • Greater Dubuque Development Corporation • East Central Intergovernmental Agency • IowaWorks • Dubuque Community Schools • Northeast Iowa Community College • The Circles Initiative Re- engagement Center Strategies Increase access to education and skills training and support successful transitions into work or school • Help high school drop -outs obtain diplomas or GED • Connect under - skilled workers to training • Provide case - managed support Opportunity Dubuque Connects workers to training and employers with skilled workers • Provides scholarships for advanced manufacturing training • Connects newly trained workers with employers • Employer partnerships support orientation, training and interviews Getting Ahead in a Just - Gettin' -by -World and Circles • Getting Ahead is a 16 -week program that helps people in poverty to understand the "hidden rules of the middle class "; Circles provides ongoing support to Getting Ahead graduates. • Programs connect people in poverty to services that address barriers to employment Earn it, Keep it, Grow it Teaches families skills to better utilize their financial resources • Bank On Dubuque connects unbanked and under - banked families to traditional bank accounts through partnerships with the majority of our community's financial institutions. • Opportunity Passport provides matched Individual Development Accounts and financial literacy training to youth aging out of foster care through a partnership with Dupaco and Four Oaks. • The Earned Income Tax Credit program with Operation New View helps low - income families receive tax credits that can be worth as much as a month's pay.
