WHEREAS, Voices from the Warehouse District V8 - INNOV8: Break the Paradigm is a call
to enrich the lives of Dubuque's citizens, foster appreciation of arts and culture
in the Tri -State region, welcome many new residents to Dubuque, and increase
awareness about the growth of creative industries in the Historic Millwork
District through art exhibitions, events, film, and music, and
WHEREAS, Voices provides a unique opportunity for people of all ages, incomes and
ethnicities to come together and experience a wide variety of art and cultural
events in the Historic Millwork District; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Voices exhibition includes visual and performing arts featuring
paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, installations, film, and music by
fourteen national and regional artists with a wide variety of special events
scheduled throughout the month, and
WHEREAS, the City of Dubuque joins Voices from the Warehouse District V8 - INNOV8:
Break the Paradigm in welcoming and recognizing the all of the artists,
musicians, poets, students, hundreds of volunteers, citizens of Dubuque, and
the many visitors who are contributing to the growth and economic impact of
the arts in Dubuque's Historic Millwork District.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM
SEPTEMBER 8 THROUGH OCTOBER 5,2012 AS
VOICES FROM THE WAREHOUSE DISTRICT V8 -
INNOV8: BREAK THE PARADIGM DAYS
IN DUBUQUE, IOWA, AS OUR COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO ADVANCE AND PROMOTE
AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF
ARTS AND CULTURE AND GROWTH IN OUR HISTORIC MILLWORK DISTRICT.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of
Dubuque to be affixed this 4`h day of September,
2012.
