Attached is Change Order No. 17 for the June 30, 2010 agreement between Miron
Construction, Inc. and the City for the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP)
Modifications Project.
Change Order No. 17 adjusts the contract completion dates as a result of the July 11,
2011, wind event and the July 28, 2011, flood event. The city has negotiated with Miron
Construction to determine the final number of calendar days that the schedule will be
extended.
Revised Project Dates:
• Substantial Completion September 3, 2013
• Final completion February 3, 2014
No additional costs are related to this change order.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The execution of Change Order No. 17 of the Miron Construction, Inc. contract is
requested.

Thank you for taking the time to meet yesterday. This letter is to sununarize the narrative of remaining
schedule. discussed: yesterday. Miron Construction Co., Inc. has also.issued schedule update 15R which
reflects- actual progress to May 25 "' as well as the. current planned sequence of remaining work.
The two remaining structures with the longest durations are the Aeration Tanks (Structure 40) and the
Final Clarifiers ( Stntcture 50). These structures are scheduled to. be completed next Autist 2013. 11
Miron is currently working in both these structures; but is only allowed to shutdown a portion of each
Structure to allow the existingg plant to remain in operation during construction. Work on Structure 50
will be suspended during winter months as a. large portion of work in this structure has temperature
sensitive coatings. However; Miron anticipates worknb on effluent gates for Structure 50-during those
winter months..
With the completion of Structures 40 and 50 next August 2013 Mixon anticipates conipleting the bypass
of the Aeration Tank Splitter (Structure 37) and associated site-work shortly after.. Miron anticipates
that by September 3, 2,013 only final landscaping will remain and the work will be substantially
complete. Miron requests that the project isubstantial completion date be extended via change order to
September 3, 2'013, and the Final Completion date be correspondingly adjusted to February 3, 2014
Please advise if the requested extension is acceptable to the City of Dubuque. Please contact Jonathan
