SUBJECT: National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration
Evaluator
I have been trained by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and
Administration to be an evaluator of graduate programs in Public Administration and
Public Affairs when they seek national accreditation.
On occasion, I will be asked to participate in a three person site team to evaluate a
program. The site visit is for three days.
I have been asked to participate in an evaluation of the program at Northern Illinois
University for three days in March 2006. I believe that participating in this process will
enhance my skills as City Manager as I learn how other organizations deal with
structural and service delivery issues, and therefore, this is an appropriate work-related
activity.
I respectfully request Mayor and City Council approval of this Northern Illinois University
visit.
