This is a claim in which claimant alleges that police impounded his motorcycle on July
22, 2009.
Claimant's motorcycle was towed to Wenzel Towing, Inc. on July 22, 2009. Claimant
was served with a Notice on August 10, 2009 via certified mail that he had ten days
from the date of the Notice to reclaim his motorcycle. Claimant failed to accept the
certified mail containing the Notice. The motorcycle was sold as provided by law on
September 23, 2009 by sealed bid to North End Auto Wrecking, Inc. to be demolished.
This claim has been referred to Public Entity Risk Services of Iowa, the agent for the Iowa
Communities Assurance Pool.
