PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Jaycees (Dubuque Junior Chamber of Commerce)
organization has been a vital entity in the City of Dubuque for over 60
years; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Jaycees have over 200 active members. They are men and
women who are between the ages of 21 and 40 who realize as a group that
leadership development is achieved through community service. They
make a positive impact on life in Dubuque through projects which take
time, focus, energy and commitment; and
WHEREAS, our Dubuque Jaycees were involved in 107 community projects last year,
including such events are: the Haunted Forest for Dubuque; Fourth of
July Fireworks; "All that Jazz" festivals; holiday lights in Washington
Park; Sandbox fill; Grand Excursion for America's River Festival; Big Boy
Toy Show; and Iowa Winter Games and others; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque Jaycees are the largest Chapter in the State of Iowa, with an
overall national ranking in the top five; and
WHEREAS, three of the local Dubuque members have gone the extra mile in
dedicating their time and energies to serve on the 2006 Iowa Jaycee
Cabinet: Chris Wand, 78th President, Tami Norton, Administrative Vice-
President and Pat Norton, Management Vice-President.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OFJANUARY 28, 2006 THROUGH FEBRUARY 3, 2006
AS:
"DUBUQUE JAYCEES' WEEK"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA AND COMMEND THE MEMBERS OF THIS GREAT
ORGANIZATION AS THEY CONTINUE TO PURSUE AND ACCOMPLISH GREAT
OBJECTIVES MAKING DUBUQUE AN EVEN BETTER CITY.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto
