Vehicle Damage
This is a claim in which the claimant alleges that while her vehicle was parked in the
driveway at 2429 Hacienda, an RTA bus pulled into the driveway and struck the mirror of
claimant's vehicle, knocking it off of the vehicle.
According to the report of Karen Sisler, Acting Transit Manger, a KeyLine driver
operating City bus #2569 entered the driveway at 2429 Hacienda to pick up passengers
on December 13, 2005 at approximately 7:45 a.m. Later that day, Ms. Sisler received a
phone call from Jean Wuertzer, a supervisor at Area Residential Care informing Ms.
Sisler that Juanita Kay Caley, a staff person at the Hacienda address, reported her
vehicle being struck. Ms. Caley stated that the bus was the only vehicle that entered
the driveway after she arrived at work.
Ms. Sisler investigated the referenced bus and found some minor damage which would be
consistent with the damage to claimant's vehicle. It is therefore the recommendation of
Karen Sisler to approve this claim for the submitted estimate amount of $$457.14. The
Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
