SUBJECT: Meeting Date for Second Regular City Council Meeting in February
Recently the City Council passed an ordinance that established a schedule for City
Council meetings that avoided federal holidays.
The second Regular City Council Meeting in February would fall on Monday,
February 20, 2006. However, this is President's Day, so the meeting would then be
held on Tuesday, February 21,2006.
Tuesday, February 21, 2006, is already scheduled for City Council budget hearings for
Economic Development, Parking Division, Transit Division, Planning Services, and
Housing/Community Development. These departments and divisions all support City
Boards and Commissions whose members may be planning to attend the budget
meeting.
Monday, February 20, 2006 is the expected date for a number of public hearings,
including the Zoning Advisory Commission items from their February 1, 2006 meeting.
Due to the short time frame to reschedule the February 20, 2006 City Council meeting
and the budget hearing scheduled for February 21, 2006, I respectfully recommend
Mayor and City Council approval of the attached ordinance that sets February 20, 2006
as the date of the second Regular City Council Meeting in February 2006.

ORDINANCE NO. 10-06
PROVIDING THAT THE SECOND REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL IN
FEBRUARY, 2006, SHALL BE FEBRUARY 20, 2006
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. Section 2-22 of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances
notwithstanding, the second regular meeting of the City Council in
February, 2006, shall be February 20, 2006;
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon publication.
Passed, approved and adopted this 6th day of February, 2006.
