Hamel seconded. The vote was all yes. Correspondence report: Neyens presented a letter from Michael Miller that had a list of complaints about Klein Electric Inc. Neyens explained that he invited Michael Miller to meet with some members of the board and himself on January 23rd 2006 at 4 PM in City Hall. Mr. Miller chose not to show up to address his concerns. Steve Klein, owner of Klein Electric, was also invited. Present at this meeting were Dan Hamel, a member of the electrical board, Steve Klein, and myself, Jim Dixon, a board member, attended by phone. Steve Klein said Michael Miller did work for him for a time but that he had quit because he wasn't getting enough hours. Mr. Klein, in addressing one of the items in the letter from Michael Miller, said that sometimes a builder will get in a big hurry and try to finish of some of the electrical on his own. He said this is not something he condones, and when it happen he checks everything over to make sure it is correct. Neyens said that as inspector he has been looking at the work done by Klein Electric for many years and has not really seen any evidence of the deceitful practices listed in Mr. Miller's letter. The comment by Mr. Miller about final inspections does have some truth in it. There have always been jobs that did not get final inspections. There are a variety of reasons for this, from the builders or installers not calling, to owners moving in before it's done, or simply that no one is at home when we try to get in. This is getting better through the education of all persons involved. The board members said that no action by the board was required at this time, and that board staff had the situation under control. New business: Duane Thole has requested reinstatement of his expired electrical maintenance license #104 which was approved by the board in 1996 and maintained through 2000. Hamel moved that Mr. Thole's license be reissued provided that he shows proof of attending a 4-hour electrical code class during 2005 or this first part of 2006 to the board's staff. Reese seconded. The vote was unanimous yes. Unfinished business: The Board reviewed legal changes and final draft of ordnance adjustments from Barry Lindahl. Hamel moved to approve the changes and recommend them to the City Council for adoption. Reese seconded. The vote was unanimous yes. Neyens reported that he had received new information about the electrical education classes for 2006 and was working to get that information on the city building services web page. Approved this day of 2006. Chairperson
