Multi Cultural Family Center opens to welcome people from many cultures in
Dubuque. Through the efforts of Dubuque County Extension the center opened in
July 2005 with over 200 people attending the open house. Funding was received from
the City of Dubuque and many local donors. This is a "work in progress" developing
programming to meet the needs of families and children. The Center is in the
Washington Street Revitalization Area. This project is a 50 block neighborhood
that is encouraging home ownership, renovation, and partnering with organizations to
assist renters, landlords, and home owners. Dubuque County Extension is a
collaborator in this exciting project. Through both of these programs, our community
continues to build capacity for all citizens.
