SUBJECT: U.S. Conference of Mayors
I have recommended funding of $9,311 in the Fiscal Year 2007 budget for the City to
participate in the U.S. Conference of Mayors. With all the federal activities that
significantly impact Dubuque, i.e., Community Development Block Grant Funding and
Federal work on communications legislation, I believe it is important that the City begin
participating in this organization this year.
There is $4,500 (the remaining need for this year) available from the savings on the
Municipal service Center project.
The $9,311 would still be needed in Fiscal Year 2007.
I respectfully recommend Mayor and City Council approval of participation in the U.S.
Conference of Mayors beginning in the current fiscal year.
