Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
Masterpiece on the Mississippi
January 23, 2013
On January 16, 2013, the Long Range Planning Advisory Commission discussed the
proposed joint venture of the City of Dubuque and the Dubuque Community School
District for an Indoor Aquatic Center Study.
The Commission commends the City Council and the School Board on an ambitious
partnership effort that has the potential to improve the recreational, educational, health
and wellness opportunities for children in our community.
Commissioners wish to express our interest in participating in the community
engagement process, including hosting public meetings, attending public input events,
and providing comments to the City Council on the consistency of the proposed Indoor
Aquatic Center with the Dubuque Comprehensive Plan.
The Long Range Planning Advisory Commission respectfully asks for City Council
consideration of this request to be of service with this study.
