Proclamation_Complaint Free Day 2 22 23P THE CITY OF DubE Masterpiece on the Mississippi 0 CILAMATION WHEREAS, the average person complains approximately 15 to 30 times per day, resulting in roughly 4.5 billion complaints spoken every day in the United States; and WHEREAS, complaining keeps people focused on current problems stultifying their innate abilities to seek and create positive, harmonious solutions; and has been shown by research psychologists to be detrimental to a person's physical and emotional health, relationships, and to limit their career success; and WHEREAS, a Complaint -Free World is a non - profit organization that encourages people to stop complaining and redirect their minds toward more positive, constructive and rewarding lives; and WHEREAS, a Complaint -Free World has sent out more than 10 million Complaint Free purple bracelets to participants in 106 countries around the world who use them to monitor their suc- cess at achieving 21 consecutive complaint -free days, thereby transforming their attitudes from negative to positive. The intention is to transform the attitude of the world's people from nega- tive to positive by inspiring no less than one percent of the global population (60 million people) to become complaint free; and WHEREAS, thousands of schools in the United States have taken on the Complaint -Free pro- gram with tens of thousands of students of all ages achieving amazing results in creating posi- tive attitudes. NOW THEREFORE, 1, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE 22ND DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2013 AS "COMPLAINT -FREE DAY" IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
