RE: Zoning Board of Adjustment
Dear Mr. Kritz,
My wife and 1 have purchased property for a new hornestead outside the city limits of Dubuque.
As I understand, I will no longer be able to serve on the Zoning Board of Adjustment subsequent to
taking residence outside the city limits. My wife and I plan on building our new residence approximately
a year from now; therefore, I will be able to continue serving the city until my replacement is found.
From my many years serving on this board, 1 am aware that the city has a very difficult time finding riew
members for the ZBA. And, as i am sure you are fully aware, since the ZBA is only a 5 member "quasi-
judicial" board that requires a 3 member affirmative vote, a full board roster is incredibly important.
This letter is to inform you of my resignation so you may advertise for a new board rnembe o replace
me. 1 will be happy to serve until my replacenient is found.
I have enjoyed the many years I have served on this board and worked with the city staff, and I sincerely
regret having to resign due to taking residency outside the city limits.
1 sincerely hope you are able to find areplacement for 1 have learned in niy many years serving on this
board how difficult it can be to operate this quasi-judicial board with a roster of less than five members.
Thank you, and good luck.
