SUBJECT: Final Acceptance of the Eagle Valley Subdivision Water Main Extension
and Service Line Lateral Project
Water Department Manager Bob Green is recommending acceptance of the Eagle
Valley Subdivision Water Main Extension and Service Line Lateral Project, as
completed by Fondell Excavating, Inc., in the final contract amount of $74,897.00, and
authorizing final payment to Fondell Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $3,744.82.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Final Acceptance of the Eagle Valley Subdivision Water Main
Extension and Service Line Lateral Project
INTRODUCTION
This memorandum is recommending final acceptance of the Eagle Valley
Subdivision Water Main Extension and Service Line Lateral Project at a final cost
of $74,897.
DISCUSSION
On December 15, 2003 the City of Dubuque Water Department entered into an
agreement with Fondell Excavating, Inc. of Dubuque, Iowa for the installation of
approximately 1,009 feet of 8 inch ductile iron water main and 71 water line
laterals in the Eagle Valley Subdivision.
ACTION REQUESTED
Staff and I are requesting your approval and recommendation to the City Council
that they adopt the two resolutions, one approving the project and one approving
the final project cost of $74,897 and authorizing final payment to Fondell
Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $3,744.82 in accordance with the State of Iowa
Statues.

RESOLUTION NO. 148-06
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENT
Whereas, the Contract for the Eagle Valley Subdivision Water Main and
Service Line Lateral Improvement Project has been completed and the City's
consultant Buesing and Associates of Dubuque, Iowa and City staff recommend
acceptance ofthe project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and
that said improvement be accepted.

FINAL ESTIMATE
Whereas, the Contract for the Eagle Valley Subdivision Water Main and
Service Line Lateral Improvement Project has been completed and the City has
submitted the final estimate showing the cost thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the cost of said improvement is hereby determined to be
$74,897; and
Section 2. That the final payment $3,744.82 be paid to Fondell Excavating,
Inc. in accordance with State Statutes from funds in the Water Department's
Fiscal Year 2004 CIP budget.
