I am pleased to inform you that Michael Van Milligen has been elected as a Regional Vice
President of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Founded in 1914,
ICMA is tbe preeminent professional and educational association for more than 8,000 appointed
administrators and assistant administrators serving cities, counties, and other local governments
around the world. Serving as one of21 members of the ICMA Executive Board is one of the
highest honors that a member of the local government management profession can receive. It is
a significant career achievement and a tremendous expression of confidence in Mike by his
peers.
As the policy-setting body of ICMA, the board meets four times a year, with each vice president
also having the responsibility to represent the Association at three or four other meetings of
members annually. ICMA pays expenses for board member attendance at state meetings that the
member does not typically attend. ICMA also pays expenses for all Executive Board meetings
with the exception of those conducted at the annual conference.
Mike will be inducted into office at ICMA's Annual Conference, which will be held in San
Antonio, Texas, September 10-13, 2006, and will serve on the board for three years.
ICMA greatly appreciates your willingness to support this professional involvement. We look
