Dear Jeanie:
Sorry for the delay in responding to your e-mail. It has always been the history of the
Dubuque Sister City Committee to invite any members of the Dubuque City Counselor City Staff
who wish to participate as members and/or delegates. It is not technically in the by-laws that a
City Counsel Member has to be on the committee; however, we always appreciate the support
and good participation of the City Counsel.
Our committee meets on an infrequent basis, as needed. Currently, I anticipate we will be
meeting 3 or 4 times throughout this summer in order to coordinate two main projects:
1) Dedication of Pyatigorsk Park and creation of the Russian art work to be
displayed at the Park. I am currently in contact with Cindy Stinehowser and
Gil Spence regarding this project;
2) Exploration of a new university exchange between Pyatigorsk University
and Loras, Clark and University of Dubuque.
Please feel free to ask the City Counsel if anyone wouid like to be appointed or informally
be a representative on the committee, we would greatly appreciate their consideration. If you
